Guy's hand stopped hers, just to hold it for a second. His expression made a very quick transformation to one of sympathy, making it clear that it was a state of being that was very easy for him to put himself in.
"I'm sorry," he said. "I hope he comes back."
Then he let her hand go.
"Do you need someone to watch your back? I've got extra water. I owe you for cleaning this up, anyway."
