It mattered more than she knew. Guy would have told her that had she voiced those thoughts aloud. The fact that some tried to mend things, even futilely, in the face of destruction gave him tremendous hope. It helped him feel human. Since death was inevitable, how people were forced to live before it mattered more than ever.
