Guy just stared in slack-jawed astonishment.

there?" he said, moving forward to poke at the can with his finger. "Is that - is that some kind of really weird plant or-"
He was thinking coconuts? Maybe like coconuts, but with a shiny rock-like outer shell?
"Did a person put it in there? To keep the food safe?"
