His hand shook as he looked at the canteen. He desperately wanted a drink, but knew if he didn't have one it would be better all round. And yet, in this place where everyone was out to kill each other, here was someone helping him survive. So he took a sip.

It was hard not to just drain the whole thing, but aside from not wanting to deprive the other man of the rest of his water, he thought it might make him sick. He swallowed his mouthful, running his tongue over his lips.

Then he held the canteen out for the other man to take back. "Thank you."
