Arena 13 - Open
Who| Loki Laufeyson (MCU) and open!
What| Arena 13
Where| Mostly around the caves
When| Primarily the current week, but a catch-all for anybody who wants any back-dated encounters
Warnings/Notes| Violence, maybe? Will update as needed.
Loki had discovered that not every Arena was equal and some were much easier to get through - especially if you escaped the Cornucopia unscathed. He had run into Thor soon after but he'd gotten way from that strange encounter and found his away along the river to the caves.
The increasing cold had not bothered him too much up to this point but he was grateful to find semi-regular supplies sent in, including food, knives and such things as blankets. As it is, he'd made it through the the last few weeks in relative comfort - as much as one can in such an environment. He'd played it safe, keeping out of most people's way and so encountered very few besides Sif and Haruto.
Maybe his luck was about to change, though.

backdated just to keep my chronology straight!
By the time she reached the caves she was huddled over to stop herself from shivering, her hair turned to icicles from where the snow had settled and melted and frozen again in it. She curls up, exhausted, hoping that no one else has thought to use this place as a respite, or that if they have, they don't intend to harm her.

And he nearly trips over the girl.
He does manage to stop himself in time, but his foot may have accidentally kicked her before he takes a step back.

"Let go of me," he growls lowly. He eyes the knife then the girl.
His tone then softens a little. "I will not hurt you if you release my foot."

"I didn't know anyone else was in here."

To him she seems small and human, so he's not expecting her to be a great fighter. More than likely she was surviving by hiding - which is more or less what he himself had been doing this arena so it wasn't really an insult.

"The forest, mostly. I was trying to keep alongside the river. But it got cold."

But he did hope to avoid that this time around.
"Yes, the weather has been dropping...," he noted. It almost seemed custom made for his natural resistances. The cold was the least of his concerns at present.
"I am Loki. What is your name?"
She seemed harmless enough and he'd said he wouldn't hurt her, so for now he'd be congenial.

"Arya. From District Ten," she adds as an afterthought.

He supposes that some people here may have been brought up in the area and not kidnapped from other worlds.

His clothing looked like it was in good enough shape that either he was some insanely talented survivalist and combatant to have lasted this long unscathed...or he'd not been in the Arena for long and hadn't had a chance to get too scuffed up yet. The self-assured way he was carrying himself might have suggested he thought himself to be the former; he wasn't at all moving like a man who feared an attack might come from any direction. Sure, he was cold, but he wasn't afraid. The idea of going into some dark, unknown cave didn't bother him at all. It was dark in there, so what? He was well acquainted with and unafraid of all manner of things that liked to hide in the dark...
If he notices Loki, it doesn't show. He glanced in that direction, sure, Either he's oblivious to the other's presence, or he just doesn't care.

It was impossible to avoid every encounter, however, and so here somebody was. The decision now was whether to play nice - and maybe backstab later - or go straight for the attack.
He decides on the former.
"Who are you?" He speaks up, a hand hovering low, near to where one of his knives are concealed. Just in case.

Loki does notice the man seems like he's more gone out for a stroll through the caves, rather than someone thrown into a violent situation. But he responds in kind, not seeming overly concerned. His tone is now almost conversational.
"Have you come prepared?"
He wonders if teh man has any supplies. He actually doesn't need any extra himself at present but it may b good to know what the other may be carrying - not that he expects him to tell the complete truth if he has such things as weapons.

Of course he was used to battles himself and a warlike sensibility through the realm, although it was quite a different sort of set-up here.

Not that he was expecting a reveal of all possible secrets but some might be bold enough to boast of their talents, either sating Loki's curiosity or allowing him an upper hand with the information given.
