this is the end!! [open!]
Who| Mariko Shinobu and YOU! :D
What| Mariko has somehow managed to stay alive! But for how long?
Where| around the orchard !
When| Late week five / beginning of week six (hell arena is on! yeah!)
Warnings/Notes| Um, talk about malnutrition? (Death??*), just suffering in general?
*Feel free to kill her if you think your character were to do that. Otherwise she'll just die from the hunger/etc.
Mariko couldn't remember just how many days had passed since she arrived into the arena or when was the last time she had actually eaten anything. She felt weak as her whole body shook violently despite all her efforts to stay still. Mariko was no stranger to the feeling of hunger. After all, it was just a few weeks ago when she had tried to starve herself. But at least back then it had been her own choice and she had deserved the pain and misery! It had been right and justified back then but now? Just what had she done to deserve to be punished like this and why did the Gamemakers even think they had any right to make her suffer like this?! Mariko couldn't understand, she wanted to cry from the confusion and anger, but didn't have enough energy to do so.
The hunger eventually led Mariko to the orchard, where she hoped to find something edible to eat and maybe even water. It was a wonder how she managed to reach the fruitful trees, without bumping into any kind of animals or other tributes. But unfortunately, that was end of her little luck: Picking a fruit from a tree was harder than she had first thought, thanks to her weak and numb arms, but eventually she managed to get her hands on a fat and juicy looking fruit. However, she only could finish eating half of it before a nausea, caused by the uncomfortable heat, hit her hard. She dropped the fruit on to ground and leaned in to a tree and began to gag.
The pain from the hunger was already so blindingly strong that Mariko felt like she could just faint at any moment now. She wanted-- no, she needed to eat something, but the heat made her to lose her appetite completely. Just thought of eating made her feel disgusted.

There were only three of them left: him, Combeferre, and Max. Him, when it should have been another of them, such as Enjolras or Joly or Courfeyrac. Especially Enjolras. Regardless of what the other Frenchman insisted, Marius believed that he played a part in his return to the Arena. Marius was the one who provided the excuse to punish him and the Capitol took it.
At the very least he had prayed that Enjolras survived longer than he, that he could protect the man to repay a debt, and he could not even do that.
Yet he himself was still here.
The troubled and self-loathing thoughts, coalesced with the torture of the heat and the hunger and the thirst and the need for Thanatos to simply claim him, occupied him so that he did not even notice the lady in the nearby orchard until the distinct sound of retching snapped him away from his stupor. He blinked, uncertain for a moment whether she was real or a hallucination.
But she was still there, after a moment or so, and the surprise and confusion immediately turned into panic and concern. He rushed to her, as fast as one suffering from dehydration and hunger could, stumbling but determined. "Mademoiselle!"

Oh. A man was running towards her.
Her eyes widened. A strange man was running towards her and calling her!
The little color that she had still left faded away from her face and Mariko forgot to breathe for a short moment. During that moment there was no arena, hunger, misery nor death. Just fear and that stranger, a man, dashing towards her. As her breath returned her Mariko grew painfully aware that she wouldn't be able to get away. There was no escape for her.
She pressed herself against the tree, trying to get away from him as much as she could. "N-no!"

The furrowed brows in confusion quickly gave way to alarm as his eyes widened. He drew out his knife from his jacket and whirled around, wondering whether she had spotted one of those deformed, un-dead enemies. His eyes narrowed as he scanned the thick fog but he could see no movement nor shadow other than their own.
"There is no one there."

"No!" She screamed at the stranger. Her voice was still hoarse, but it came out more stronger than before and was filled with fear.
"Y-You! You stay away!" Mariko dropped to the ground and turned towards the tree, hiding her face from this stranger.

He simply stood there for a second or two, his brow furrowed, wondering what he should do. He could, of course, heed her request, but it was far too dangerous for a lady to be alone. After a while he dared to say, "I-I will. But you must find someone else to be with you. There are dangers out there that may rob you of your chance at surviving, if you stay like this."
